Dress code enforcement: Hospital guards will improve - MOH

Authorities overseeing Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital in Kuantan have described the recent barring of a visitor due to dress code violations as a "misunderstanding".

Pahang health director Dr Nor Azimi Yunus assured there will be continued efforts to improve the communication between hospital security staff in handling visitors.

"Admittedly, sometimes there are conflicts due to a difference in definition when enforcing dress codes in government premises.

"Nevertheless, to balance the matter, we must prioritise being considerate and communication," she said in a statement last night.

Azimi said the incident occurred at the hospital on March 7.

A video of the incident uploaded to Twitter attracted the attention of Deputy Health Minister Lukanisman Awang Sauni, who pledged to investigate the matter.

In the clip, the middle-aged woman appeared silent while a man who was recording appeared to be arguing with a security guard.

According to the narration in the clip, the "hospital management" had denied the woman entry. - Mkini
