Husam to head SPNB

 

Former Amanah vice-president Husam Musa is set to be the chairperson of Syarikat Perumahan Negara Berhad (SPNB) - a housing development GLC.

However, he declined to elaborate on his appointment for now.

"I have not entered the office yet. God willing, Thursday is the plan. (I'll make a statement) after that," he told Malaysiakini when asked to comment on his appointment.

Previously, The Malaysian Insight cited sources as confirming Husam's appointment to the GLC.

SPNB is under the purview of the Local Government Development Ministry - and one of its main tasks is to build affordable housing.

This will not be Husam's first GLC appointment.

Previously during the first Pakatan Harapan administration, he was Kemubu Agricultural Development Authority (Kada) chairperson.

In last year's general election, he was fielded by PKR as its candidate for Pasir Mas but failed to unseat the PAS incumbent Ahmad Fadhli Shaari. - Mkini
