The MCA central committee election will be held on Sept 24 while polling for the youth and women’s wings will take place a day earlier.
Party secretary-general Chong Sin Woon said nominations for all central-level positions will be on Sept 11.
“All information on the party election will be displayed on the website for candidates’ reference,” he told a media conference at the 74th MCA party anniversary celebrations today.
Chong said party polls will kick off with the branch-level election next month. Nominations will be on April 20 while the election will be held on April 29 (youth and women), and the branch on April 30.
For the divisional election, nominations will be on June 1 while polling will take place on June 10 and 11.
“Nominations for the division youth and women’s wings posts will be held on July 27 with polling on Aug 5 (youth) and Aug 6 (women’s wing).”
According to Article 167 of the MCA constitution, party polls must be held within six months after the general election.
