Muda has again been left out of a coalition government meeting.
At the same time, the party has also been left waiting for a reply from Pakatan Harapan to discuss matters pertaining to the youth-centric party's role in the Anwar Ibrahim-led government.
According to Muda secretary-general Amir Hariri Abd Hadi, the party was not invited to the unity government secretariat's second meeting, which is being held at Umno headquarters in Kuala Lumpur tonight.
"We are not attending the meeting. Muda did not receive any invitation," he told Malaysiakini in a text message.
The meeting scheduled at 8pm, and still ongoing as of the time this article was published, is set to discuss the upcoming six state elections.
So far, leaders from Umno, PKR, DAP, GPS and MCA were among those seen arriving at the meeting venue.
According to a senior leader of one of the parties involved in the meeting, the agenda they expect to discuss include seat allocations among the parties that support the current federal administration.
This would be the second time Muda was left out of the secretariat meeting, after the first one on Feb 7, which was held at the same venue.
Also left out then was Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM). It has yet to be confirmed if PBM was invited to today's meeting, but so far none of its leaders was seen present at the Umno headquarters.
Request for a meeting
Meanwhile, on a related matter, Amir said Muda has also been left hanging by Harapan on its request for a meeting to discuss issues, including Muda's role in the government.
"We sent our third letter on Feb 18 requesting a meeting with the Harapan secretariat.
"So far, we are still waiting for them to respond.
"Whether we will be invited or otherwise, Muda will continue to focus on our preparations for the state elections," he said.
According to the secretary-general, Muda's application to join Harapan also did not have any progress.
He said the last response they received was from Anwar before the 15th general election last year. - Mkini
