The three people in the picture here are aspiring leaders in Scotland. The guy is Hamza Yousaf who not only wants to be president or leader of the Scottish National Party or SNP but he also wants an independent Scotland.
Anyway a debate has come up about same sex marriage, gay and gender identity etc in Scotland. The two women are against it but the male candidate is in agreement.
Here is some very brief Islamic / Scottish discussion about the matter by Mr Paigham Mustafa, an old friend of nine who was also born and raised in Glasgow, Scotland (of Pakistani origins).
Paigham Mustafa’s Post
GAY SEX, SAME-SEX MARRIAGE AND OPEN RELATIONSHIPS
Scotland is a progressive country, Ms Sturgeon has stated, and the views of the next first minister therefore matter.
However, Kate Forbes and Ash Regan, two of the candidates for the leadership election, have made their positions clear on Scottish Government’s Gender Recognition Reform Bill.
Forbes has said she would not have voted for it and Regan quit her ministerial role and urged MSPs to vote against the proposal. These are obviously two women of formidable conviction.
However, Humza Yousaf the favourite to win the contest, who declares himself to be a Muslim, yet backs gender reforms in line with his party’s proposals. In his interview on SkyNews he made it clear that he supports gay sex and same-sex marriage and would not let his faith influence his decision to support his party’s policy.
Yousaf is obviously prepared to trample over the Quran’s principles in his desperate bid to be the party leader. This is a straw man. Someone whose views can shift whichever way the wind blows. No integrity and no substance. And definitely not to be trusted.
The Quran clearly defines the limits of sexual relationships because any breach of these boundaries can lead to displacement of social order and result in turmoil.
People who think themselves progressive will readily agree that gay sex and marriage between same sex consenting adults should be enshrined in law.
Then to reflect equality, should sex and marriage rights be extended to all consenting adults?
I’m sure progressive people must agree with this too.
Will these progressive people then also agree that this right to sex and marriage should also be extended, in law, to consenting adults who are siblings and parents who want to marry their children?
And like gay relationships, incestuous relationships and open marriages should also be discussed and promoted to young school children so that they are aware of the ‘choices’ available to them.
Now can anyone explain to me how this would contribute to an ordered and stable society for communities today and in the future?
The scenarios that would emerge in such a ‘progressive’ world would be mind-boggling to say the least.
Has the penny dropped, yet?
