PETALING JAYA: Perikatan Nasional coalition parties - PAS and Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) - have called upon all its members in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor to attend a mass solat hajat (prayer of need) in Taman Melewar, Gombak on Thursday (March 9).
PAS secretary-general Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan said this in a statement on Wednesday (March 8), right after Perikatan Nasional chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin (pic) confirmed he has been called up by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).
"All PAS and Perikatan members should attend the prayers session titled 'Solat hajat for security of the country and solidarity against cruelty'.
"The central PAS and central Perikatan directs all the their members, especially in Selangor and the Federal Territory, to attend a programme "Solat hajat for security of the country and solidarity against cruelty" on Thursday night at 7pm at the PAS Centre in Taman Melewar, Gombak.
"Those who cannot do so are asked to hold the same programme at their own places of worship places," said Takiyuddin.
The programme will also feature speeches by the leaders of Perikatan including senior leadership of Bersatu and PAS, said Takiyuddin.
Speculation has been rife since earlier on Wednesday that Muhyiddin would allegedly be arrested by MACC on Thursday and charged over alleged corruption concerning Bersatu party funds.
