Ahmad Zahid Hamidi’s political secretary Razlan Rafii has won the position of Seputeh Umno division chief.
Razlan (above), who works under Zahid in his capacity as rural and regional development minister, won the race with a large majority of 206 votes, defeating Mustapa Kamal who received 55 votes.
Meanwhile, Armand Azha Abu Hanifah, who was previously an Umno supreme council member, succeeded in securing the position of Subang Umno division chief with a large majority.
In a Facebook post, Armand said that he won over 200 votes from a total of 368 votes.
"I want to thank the Subang Umno division representatives who once again trusted me with a large majority,” he said.
Earlier, Umno secretary-general Ahmad Maslan announced that the results in the contest for Umno Supreme Council will be expected tonight.
Ahmad, who is also the Pontian Umno vice-chief said that today's election involved a total of 189 out of 191 divisions nationwide.
Two Umno divisions - Tanah Merah, Kelantan and Kota Kinabalu, Sabah - did not hold an election after being suspended for undisclosed reasons.
The Umno polls started on Feb 1 and will end today with the announcement of the Umno divisional committee election and the Supreme Council election. - Mkini
