Pharmaniaga Bhd chief executive officer (CEO) Zulkarnain Md Eusope has resigned from the company effective today.
In a statement today, Pharmaniaga said Zulkarnain (above) has departed to pursue other interests.
“He has served Pharmaniaga since September 2020, and during his tenure, the company has achieved significant business growth in the Malaysian private market, as well as its operations in Indonesia.
“The board wishes him all the very best in his future endeavours,” it said.
Pharmaniaga said during the interim period, the board has formed an executive committee (exco) chaired by non-independent non-executive director Ahmad Shahredzuan Mohd Shariff with participation from members of the management team, namely deputy CEO Zulkifli Jafar, chief operating officer Mohamed Iqbal Abdul Rahman; and chief financial officer Norai’ni Mohamed Ali.
“The exco will take over the responsibility and perform the functions of the CEO.
“The exco assures that it is business as usual for Pharmaniaga and that all operational activities for concession business with the Health Ministry and non-concession business with the Health Ministry and other ministries, as well as the private sector, will remain intact and not disrupted,” it said.
Meanwhile, Pharmaniaga said the exco would also prioritise the preparation of the PN17 Regularisation Plan, which would be supervised by a newly formed PN17 Board Committee Task Force chaired by independent non-executive director Lim Thean Shiang.
Pharmaniaga Berhad is the pharmaceutical arm of Boustead and, together with the Armed Forces Fund Board, is the company’s major shareholder.
