Former Ampang MP Zuraida Kamaruddin has confirmed that she will support Perikatan Nasional in the upcoming six state elections expected to be held in June.
Sinar Harian reported that the former minister is not inclined to back Pakatan Harapan and BN.
"I want to announce that I will be supporting PN for the upcoming state elections.
"I am not supporting Harapan or BN because they formed a coalition (gabungan) government and not a mixed (campuran) government," she told reporters after attending a mini townhall programme at the Perdana Leadership Foundation in Putrajaya.
Former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad and former Umno supreme council member Noh Omar were also in attendance.
NGO work
Zuraida said she is now with Muafakat Nasional NGO to give herself a larger platform to engage in nonprofit and community work.
"So I can do activities at the grassroots level through involvement in these NGOs," she added.
Last December, Zuraida joined Muafakat NGO while she was still in Parti Bangsa Malaysia.
However, she was axed from the party along with 10 other members following a power struggle with its president Larry Sng.
The former PKR and Bersatu member failed to retain her Ampang seat in GE15 and even lost her deposit, after serving three terms as the constituency’s MP. - Mkini
