SATU LAGI IDEA KUDA LIAR OLEH RAFIZI. BERAPA RATUS JUTA DUIT RAKYAT TERLIBAT?

Wild horses mating season is on again?

  • Rafizi during visit to vending machine site in KL June 14, 2023
  • Economy Ministry procurement 4,900 vending machines in 2 months
  • first 100 gone through procurement process, completion this month
  • ministry selection process for next 4,900 vending machines
  • target of 5,000 vending machines nationwide
  • currently selecting applicants through open procurement process
  • demand for low-priced ready meals highest in campuses and hospitals
  • approximately 10,000 people waiting for (vending) machines
  •  — Bernama

My Comments : This is just a disaster waiting to burn tens maybe a hundred million Ringgit  of taxpayers money.  Someone throw a bucket of cold water on this guy.

Every time Rafizi talks about the okonomi, he makes the Pakatan Harapan appear even dumber than they already are. It is a special gift.

Here is a screenshot of some Chinese company that has a range of these food vending machines for sale. They range in price from US$4000 to US$7000 (RM18,000 to RM32,000).

Rafizi is going to buy 5,000 of these? Using taxpayers money? What is the cost for each of these 5,000 vending machines?

Using the info above (back of the envelope calculation only ok) the cost for 5,000 vending machines could range between RM90 million to RM160 million of public funds.

What is the payback period that you have calculated per RM18k to RM32k vending machine, selling nasi lemak at RM3.00 a packet? Can you recoup the financial investment back at all?

What is the Return on the Investment, if there is such a thing at all?

Is this even a commercially viable proposition?  Or are you just going to throw taxpayers money to keep this silly idea going?

Who pays the rental and the electricity at the locations where you park the vending machines? Surely the space they occupy must have a lettable value (rental value) and they use electricity. Siapa bayar? More taxpayers funds?

I am trying to imagine the food logistics of cooking and packing nasi lemak at 5,000 vending machine locations throughout the country. Say each machine has 50 packets of nasi lemak, you will need food logistics to handle 250,000 packets of nasi lemak every day throughout the country. EVERY DAY!!

Let me tell you now - THAT IS JUST NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.

And even if you are successful you are going to seriously damage the makcik selling nasi lemak by the roadside.

If your kuda liar idea is successful it means that the sales of nasi lemak at the roadside warong THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY will decrease by 250,000 packets of nasi lemak EVERY DAY.

You will be depriving the makcik nasi lemak industry of RM1.25 million sales a day (using RM5.00 per nasi lemak). Or RM37.5 million per month. Or RM450 million sales of nasi lemak per year. How is the makcik nasi lemak going to feed her children? Or go for her naik haji?

This really stupid scheme cannot survive on its own. It is not commercially viable. The makcik nasi lemak cannot sell nasi lemak at RM3.00 per packet. This stupid scheme can only survive when you burn taxpayers money.

So you are using taxpayers money to put the makcik nasi lemak out of business. How can the makcik nasi lemak compete against an endless supply of "peruntukan" of taxpayers money?

I have a simpler solution. No need to burn RM90 million or RM160 million of public funds on this KUDA LIAR idea. No need to buy vending machines.

This is a very old idea. It has worked quite well.

Just give food stamps (food coupons) to the B40 people to buy food. Say RM100 per person per month. So a family of four gets  RM400 per month. They can use the food coupons to buy food.

Hello YB Tak Tahu Formula Apa Pun, when your 5,000 vending machines become quite the useless (say within SIX MONTHS) what are you going to do with 5,000 used vending machines? Jual 2nd hand kah? Better start thinking about that problem straight away. Let me assure you - it is going to happen.

p.s. My congratulations to whoever gets the contracts to supply these vending machines. Cepat kaya ya. Christmas come very early.
