Judge Awang Kerisnada Awang Mahmud rescheduled proceedings after lawyer Wan Azwan Aiman Wan Fakhruddin informed the court that Adi is seeking treatment at Universiti Malaya Medical Centre for heart-related problems.
He said Adi had been in hospital since Aug 31. Adi’s wife, Zureen Zainuddin, also said he was undergoing several tests and was unsure how long he would remain in hospital.
Awang said the court accepted Zureen’s explanation and that it would not be feasible to read the charges to him at the hospital.
“Let him rest for the time being,” he said.
Adi was scheduled to appear in court today to face charges under Section 165 of the Penal Code, which relates to a public servant obtaining things of value.
He was remanded for four days in 2018 by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission over the use of a TH-linked interior design contractor to build cabinets at his house. - FMT
