RM100k aid for copter crash victims’ families; Fadillah makes cabinet return after surgery

Sarawak helicopter crash

  • The Sarawak government will provide RM100,000 to each family of personnel who died in the helicopter crash near Long Lellang, yesterday, the Sarawak Public Communications Unit said in a statement.

Sarawak Premier Abang Johari Openg also announced that the state government would fully cover the education fees of the deceased personnel’s children who are still attending school, through Yayasan Sarawak.

The assistance is intended as a gesture of appreciation and concern for the sacrifice made by the personnel while carrying out their duties to serve the people, particularly communities in the interior areas of Sarawak.

  • Governance

  • Deputy Prime Minister Fadillah Yusof has joined a cabinet meeting today, which is his first since undergoing a heart bypass surgery on Aug 12.

However, Fadillah - who is also the energy transition and water transformation minister - said he would remain on medical leave until Sept 27 on the advice of his doctors.

He would only attend cabinet meetings in person while on leave, Bernama reported. - Mkini
