PETALING JAYA – Tan Sri Annuar Musa said he was in the dark over a special meeting which suspended him from his posts as chairman of Mara and its subsidiary Pelaburan Mara Bhd (PMB).

“I had no idea about this meeting and I was also not informed of the issues surrounding my suspension.

“I was also never asked to explain myself before the Mara council or the minister in charge,” he said in a statement Tuesday.

Earlier, Mara (Majlis Amanah Rakyat) council member Datuk Dr Yusof Yacob said Annuar was suspended and asked to go on leave while an internal audit is conducted into allegations over the sponsorship of the Kelantan Football Association (Kafa) by two Mara subsidiaries.

However, according to Annuar, who is in New Zealand on official Mara duty, the meeting was initially scheduled to be held on Feb 14.

He said he was planning to discuss with the board the issues involving him.

“But it looks like the minister has given his consent to have the meeting earlier without my presence.

“As a civil servant, I accept any decision with an open heart and will take full responsibility. I will hold on to the principles of integrity and trust,” he said.

Annuar also said that following the suspension, he will cancel his remaining programmes in New Zealand before returning to Malaysia on Thursday.

Rural and Regional Development Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri, whose ministry oversees Mara, could not be reached for comment.

Pakistan, which the Pentagon has repeatedly accused of serving as a sanctuary for terrorists, may be added to the list of seven countries covered by President Donald Trump’s recently-signed executive order limiting immigration from certain Muslim-majority countries. 

In an interview with CBS,  White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus acknowledged for first time that Pakistan could be added to the list of seven Muslim-majority countries — Iran, Iraq, Libya, Sudan, Yemen, Syria, and Somalia — from where immigration has been halted for at least 90 days while the Trump administration improves the U.S. vetting process.

“other countries have similar problems, like Pakistan. .we need to take it further. .

the chief of staff noted the countries covered linked to terrorism.

These are countries that harbor and train terrorists. 

we want to know ...to prevent calamities from happening in this country.

My comments : So they are going to add Pakistan to the list. It will be highly hypocritical of Trump if they do not add Saudi Arabia. It was Donald Trump who repeated that 15 of the 19 hijackers of 9-11 were Saudi Arabians. So if Pakistan is added to the list, I think Saudi Arabia is just one sound bite away.

Note these words closely. They are going after countries that have :

• “tendency to promote, produce, protect terrorist organizations”
•  countries that harbor and train terrorists.

The IGP says there are terrorist cells in Tawau. The Minister of Defense says no. The Americans also read our papers.

Our Police Counter Terrorism experts say that the Salafi ideology (Ibnu Taiminyah and others)  is dangerous and is upheld by the ISIS.  Again a Cabinet Minister, religious "experts" from the Malaysian gomen disagreed with our Counter Terrorism chief.  They support Salafism and Ibnu Taiminyah. Again the Americans also read our papers.

Salafi "preachers" like Bilal Philips, Yusuf Qardawi, Zakir Naik and others who have been banned from entering other countries because they are associated with mentoring or being "spiritual guides" for jihadis are not only welcome in Malaysia but they are given RM100,000 Maal Hijrah Awards, given islands, granted Permanent Resident status, allowed to appear on local TV and deliver sermons in Malaysian mosques.

The Americans read our newspapers.

So dont say I did not warn you if one day the Trump Administration places a ban on Malaysian Muslims travelling to the US.

Jihad Now Part Of School Curriculum, ISIS Are Very Happy

Someone sent me this yesterday. It is a picture of the back cover of school exercise books used in gomen schools. 

I have long held that gomen schools have now become breeding grounds for "jihadi" indoctrination, of the type that will make the ISIS happy.   

This exercise book cover is evidence enough of "jihadi" indoctrination in our gomen school system.

When we were in school in the 60s and 70s, the school exercise books only had the Rukunegara on the back cover. Now they have the Rukun Iman and Rukun Islam.

Then they also have this "Prinsip Asas Kami".   Among other things it says,

"Jihad Perjuangan Kami" and "Syahid (Dying a Martyr's death) Cita-cita kami".     
 

I recently received an email from a school teacher in Kuantan. She said that her school kids learn 6 periods of science and 4 periods of mathematics a week (or vice versa, dah lupa). That is a total of 10 periods of maths and science classes per week.

Then they also have 3 periods of Arabic and 6 periods of Agama classes a week !! The Arabic is also "tuned" towards Agama. This means that Agama + Arabic = 9 classes a week exceeds both science (6 periods) and maths (4 periods).

This is in the gomen schools. The non Muslim kids (Chinese, Indians, Ibans, Dusuns) are not exposed to 9 periods of agama and arabic per week. 

I dont know what they do in those 9 periods, whether they learn other subjects or just hang around the class.

But certainly the non Malays (Chinese, Indians, Ibans, Dusuns etc) will use the time to study other subjects that are more practical for their lives.   School kids in Singapore, Vietnam, Japan, Germany will also be using that extra 9 periods to learn other subjects relevant to their future.

So is it any wonder then that when the Muslim kids grow up they will either be working for the non Muslims or be dependent on the non Muslims for basic necessities like clothes, food, transport etc? 

Now we have China bailing out Malaysia by the billions, including our billions. 

The NEP (or DEB) is never going to be fully achieved. The Wawasan 2020 is not going to be achieved.  The Wawasan 2020 has now become TN50.  "High Income nation" is becoming "no income nation" for many people (majority Malays) who are losing jobs and worse who cannot get jobs.

Maybe the school kids can recite the Rukuns and they know about jihad and mati syahid, but have they been taught not to litter, to present themselves properly for a job interview,    to come to work on time, to come to work at all,  to perform simple tasks on the job, to serve their employers, to serve ALL their customers well etc?  

Maybe that is not so important. Jihad and syahid  are more important.  

If they need shoes and clothes they can buy it from the non Muslims.

Voters turn to court as EC denies them lawyers during inquiries

The denial of the services of a lawyer is in breach of Article 5 of the Federal Constitution, say seven voters in application for leave for judicial review.

KUALA LUMPUR: The Election Commission (EC) and its chairman have been hit with yet another legal action by voters, this time for being denied the right to be represented by lawyers during local inquiries.

Seven voters from two parliamentary and five state seats in Kedah, Perak and Johor have filed leave for judicial review.

They want a declaration from the High Court that the EC’s action is against the Federal Constitution and the Commission of Enquiries Act 1950 and that the exercise is null and void.

In their application filed today through legal firm Messrs Daim & Gamany, the seven also seek all other relief deemed fit by the court in the interest of justice.

The applicants are Chua Yee Ling, Chai Wee Siong, Hashim Yusof, Zamri Yusof, Muhammad Arafat, Mohd Isa Ahmad and Dr Chong Fat Full.

The seven also represented the minimum 100 voters in the affected constituencies to voice out their dissatisfaction over the conduct of the EC in carrying out boundary alterations.

The two parliamentary seats are Tambun in Perak and Ledang in Johor while the state seats are Bukit Selambau and Bakar Bata (Kedah), Kuala Sepetang (Perak), and Semerah and Bukit Batu (Johor)

Chua, who affirmed an affidavit in support of the leave application, said the EC and its chairman Mohd Hashim Abdullah had sidelined the Enquiries Act during proceedings to hear the voters out.

“The inquiry is similar to a court proceeding but we were denied the right to be represented by lawyers,” he said.

Chua said the denial of the services of lawyers of their choice was also in breach of Article 5 of the Constitution.

“The refusal to allow lawyers during proceedings had caused us to be unable to put our complaint effectively, and is a breach of our fundamental right,” he added.

He said the EC’s violation of the Constitution and the law passed by parliament left them with no choice but to seek a declaration that the current exercise was null and void.

On Sept 15, the EC advertised a notice in major newspapers to redraw election boundaries for the peninsula and Sabah.

Currently, the EC is conducting an inquiry to prepare its report to be submitted to parliament, which must be done within 24 months.

Since then, four other aggrieved parties have taken the EC and Hashim to court, the most notable being the Selangor government and Lembah Pantai MP Nurul Izzah Anwar. -FMT

Nurul asks why AG’s appeal over redelineation exercise rushed

The developments unfolding in her case do not inspire confidence in the judiciary, says the Lembah Pantai MP.

KUALA LUMPUR: Nurul Izzah Anwar has questioned the speed with which the administrator of the Court of Appeal has moved to fix a date to hear the Attorney-General’s (AG) appeal over a case involving the Election Commission (EC).

The administrator has set Feb 15 to hear the AG’s appeal to stop a High Court from hearing a judicial review application filed by her and 10 voters to quash the EC’s proposal to redraw the Lembah Pantai seat.

“I understand it takes at least two months for an appellate court to hear an appeal. In our case, it has been fixed fast and on Feb 15.

“Moreover, why is a special panel being convened to hear this case,” she asked.

Nurul, who is also PKR vice-president, said usually a court would fix appeal dates after an appellant had filed grounds for appeal.

“In this case, we do not know what is the basis for the appeal as we have not been notified,” Nurul told a news conference at the Jalan Duta Court complex today.

The two-term MP said the developments in this case did not inspire confidence in the judiciary.

Nurul said she did not discount the possibility of withdrawing her case in order “not to scuttle a similar suit filed by the Selangor government against the EC.”

“I will do some consultation whether to withdrew our action and any decision must be due to strategic consideration,” said Nurul, who is also PKR’s director of elections.

Nurul’s lawyer Surendra Ananth had told FMT the Court of Appeal had fixed Feb 13 to hear the AG’s appeal before a special panel.

He said the AG’s application to stay the High Court from hearing the judicial review had been fixed for this Friday.

Judge Azizul Azmi Adnan, who allowed the application by Nurul and the voters earlier this month, had fixed Feb 15 to hear the merits of the case.

Azizul had said the application was not frivolous and the applicants had legal standing to file the case.

He said the EC was only involved in a decision-making process and it was susceptible to judicial review by the court.

The applicants who filed the judicial review application last November had named the EC, its chairman Mohd Hashim Abdullah and secretary Abdul Ghani Salleh as respondents.

Nurul said the redelineation exercise went against the fundamental principle of “one person, one vote, one value” due to gerrymandering and apportioning seats that would favour the ruling incumbent.

DR YUSOF: MARA TO PROBE ALLEGATIONS AGAINST ANNUAR MUSA

(The Star) – Tan Sri Annuar Musa (pix) has been suspended as Mara chairman and asked to go on leave pending investigations into allegations made against him, said Mara committee member Datuk Dr Yusof Yacob.

Dr Yusof said Annuar has been asked to go on leave while an internal Mara audit is conducted into allegations on the sponsorship of Kelantan Football Association (Kafa) by two Mara subsidiaries.

“This is a unanimous decision, with the approval from the minister (Rural and Regional Development Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yacob),” said Dr Yusof after a special meeting of the Mara board of directors on Tuesday morning.

Recently, Johor crown prince Tunku Ismail Tunku Ibrahim had alleged that a certain “Tan Sri” had forced Mara and its entities to sponsor the Kelantan Red Warriors team.

In a Facebook post on Jan 12, Tunku Ismail also published photographs of documents showing a RM500,000 sponsorship by Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) and an additional RM200,000 by Pelaburan Mara.

Although no individual was mentioned, it was an apparent reference to Annuar, who was also a former president of Kafa.

NGOs ask why 'unqualified' Tamil schools part of DLP

Thirty NGOs have questioned why "unqualified" schools are among the 47 Tamil schools selected to implement the Dual Language Programme (DLP).

K Arumugam, Child Information Learning Development Centre (Child) spokesperson, said that these schools did not meet the minimum 1.85 minimum average grade in Bahasa Malaysia required.

The group said the DLP, which allowed schools to opt to teach Science and Mathematics in English, was unsuitable for Tamil schools and should be scrapped.

"Tamil schools are mother tongue education centre," Malaysian Indian Progressives A Rajaretinam said.

Parents who want their children to learn the subjects in English can opt for national schools, he said.

"They can always send their children to (national schools) if they're interested to do DLP.

"In Tamil schools, we don't want DLP, very simple," he said.

The group said it would next week send a memorandum to the Education Ministry to urge for the scrapping of the DLP for Tamil schools.

The NGOs also wanted the ministry to probe the schools' Parent-Teacher Associations and principals for allegedly opting for DLP even though their schools did not qualify.

The NGOs said that these students would better understand those subjects if taught in Tamil, their mother tongue.

"Particularly if they are from rural areas, they're incapable of acquiring the knowledge of science and mathematics through a foreign language because English is a foreign language".

When asked if parents have objected to DLP, the group said those speaking out on the DLP did not represent students from Tamil-speaking lower-income families.

Parents supportive of the DLP are from English-speaking backgrounds, he said.

"Over 90 percent of poor parents are silent...," he said.

Education Minister Mahdzir Khalid and Education director-general Khair Mohamad Yusof were not available to comment as they are both overseas.- Mkini
