The National Association for Children of Settlers (Anak) today filed a police report against Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak and two others for “contempt of court”.
The report was related to the Federal Court’s recent landmark decision favouring Felda settlers.
Led by PAS MP Salahuddin Ayub and Anak president Mazlan Aliman, the report also named Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Ahmad Maslan and Felda President Yusof Noor.
In its decision, the apex court had ordered Felda (Federal Land Development Authority) to pay RM11 million in damages to 354 settlers.
The report stated that Najib and the other two had committed contempt of court by claiming that Felda lost the case because its lawyer did not attend the trial, depriving the agency of the chance to defend itself.
The report was lodged at 11.30am with the Dang Wangi district police headquarters. A handful of Anak
supporters were also present.
The report was lodged on behalf of Anak by settler Abdul Rahman Ramli from the Felda Serting in Negeri Sembilan.

"How can they say that their lawyers did not show up at court?" Aliman said, rubbishing Najib's claim.
He added that while Felda's lawyers failed to appear at the High Court, the agency was represented by lawyers when the matter went up on appeal to the Court of Appeal and Federal Court.
"The decision made at the Federal Court was made by the Chief of Justice Zaki Azmi himself," Aliman continued.
MP Salahuddin meanwhile said that this report was just the starter.
"We will make another expose after Hari Raya," he said, adding that Anak had more proof on Felda's handling of the palm oil extraction grade and the distribution of fertilizer.
