'BN helps us from birth to death'

ITS ALL THE RAKYAT'S MONEY WHICH NOW BN CLAIMS AS THOUGH ITS OWN MONEY. HOW SHALLOW POLITICIANS CAN BE TO 'CHEAT' THE PEOPLE TO WIN THEIR SYMPATHY. ITS A DUTY OF THE GOVERNMENT TO SEE TO THE WELL-BEING OF ITS PEOPLE. WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY GIVING FROM BIRTH TO DEATH?

KUCHING: The people of Sarawak must support Chief Minister Taib Mahmud and the Barisan Nasional because the regime had provided for them from "birth to death".

"From birth to death, only BN has helped us. Our children are born in a government hospital, study in a government schools, work in a factory enabled by the government and pray at a place of worship built by the government.

"In fact even in death the van transporting the coffin is sponsored by the local government wakil rakyat," said Deputy Minister in PM's Department and Umno information chief Ahmad Maslan.

As such, he said, the rakyat must stand firm behind BN and reject the presence of the opposition who have proven themselves to be liars.

Speaking to newsmen after launching a 1Malaysia programem at a school here, Maslan said the opposition parties were only capable of 'printing dreams' on paper.

"We Barisan Nasional however can translate the people's wishes into reality. The opposition can only print dreams on paper.

"They do not have the capacity to translate their promises... just look around you at how they have performed since 2008," he said alluding to the Pakatan Rakyat coalition's victories in Kelantan, Kedah, Penang, Selangor and Perak. Perak was wrested back by BN in a reverse takeover soon after the polls.

Sweet promises

Maslan urged Sarawakians not to be influenced by the 'sweet promises' of the opposition who are 'likely to campaign till death' in the coming state elections.

"The opposition is likely to campaign till death to convince you of their credibility because of the spilt in the party under the leadership of opposition chief Anwar (Ibrahim).

"The chaos in his (Anwar) party shows they have failed to reflect a positive image of their ability to administrate development in the state and country.

"The opposition can only print dreams but a responsible party like BN can bring development, harmony, education, healthcare, peace, job opportunities and uplift the dignity of the state to international level," he said.

Maslan attributed the actions of the opposition which he alleged were anchored in lies as the cause for the spilt within the Pakatan Rakyat coalition.

"Their lying actions have hit back on them. It has not only caused a split within them to the point that many of the elected reps have left the party, but also now Anwar and his three followers have been suspended for six months from attending the Dewan Rakyat sitting," he said.

Maslan was referring to a motion passed by the Dewan Rakyat yesterday to suspend Anwar for his statement linking the 1Malaysia concept with the One Israel campaign.

Three other Pakatan MPs - Azmin Ali (PKR-Gombak), R Sivarasa (PKR-Subang) and Karpal Singh (DAP-Batu Gelugor) - were also suspended along with Anwar.
