BN's latest tactic: Big fish, small case

Khir's turn now. In July 2010, it was Ling Liong Sik.

LETTER So MACC has finally got the 'big' fish, after a long delay. The AG basks in the glory of being vindicated, and claims that the prosecution was long delayed due to the intricate investigation to gather up a "solid" case.

That former Selangor Menteri Besar Mohamad Khir Toyo was a picture of confidence when he said he had faith in the system, should not surprise anyone. Even a school-going child knows that Khir would eventually be acquitted, and don't be surprised when he would not be even asked to enter defence.

While I agree that Khir is among those "big fish", the charge brought against him seems to be the result of careful selection from scores of other easier-to-prove wrongdoings by Khir.

By trying to prove a silly case of buying a property at a discount, there is no need for any transfer of judges or unfair judgement. The whole process is just to clear Khir's name, i.e. through a charge which will be difficult to prove in court.

It seems the MAAC's tactic now has graduated from charging small fry to charging the big fish, only that the charge sheets against these big fish are too small. Be prepared for more big fish to have their day in court.
