Former Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Tan Sri Mohd Isa Abdul Samad today declined comment when asked whether he was going to be appointed the new chairman of Felda.
Mohd Isa, assemblyman for Bagan Pinang, said he had not received any information to that effect and that he had also learnt about it from a media report.
The Utusan Malaysia newspaper reported today that Mohd Isa would be appointed chairman of Felda to succeed Tan Sri Dr Mohd Yusof Noor whose contract of service ends on Dec 31.
Mohd Isa, 61, was the menteri besar of Negeri Sembilan for 22 years, from April 1982 to March 2004. He was also a minister of the federal territories and a former vice-president of Umno.
Mohd Isa became the assemblyman of Bagan Pinang after winning a by-election on Oct 11 last year. — Bernama
