Muhyiddin - but will he keep his word?

IPOH - Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has described the statement by several PAS leaders, who predicted that the Barisan Nasional (BN) plans to seize power if the Pakatan Rakyat (PR) or opposition pact were to win the 13th general eleftion, as malicious, slanderous and a lie.

The Deputy Prime Minister said such statements were another example where PAS would always look for opportunities to create lies to discredit the BN government.

"This is malicious and prejudicial aimed at scaring the people," he told reporters after officiating the ground-breaking ceremony for the Twin Creeks Malaysia Sdn Bhd solar panel factory at the Khantan Industrial Area, here.

PAS vice-president Datuk Mahfuz Omar yesterday hinted the possibility of a coup occurring as a result of the reminder by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak that the people should not vote for any other party except the BN.

Muhyiddin, who is also the BN deputy chairman, said the result of the last general election proved that the BN respected the democratic process and accepted the decision made by the people. - BERNAMA
