TEMERLOH, March 1 — Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said Barisan Nasional (BN) is unfazed by the opposition’s move to unveil its “Buku Jingga”, or Orange Book.

He said what was important was to explain to the people why the promises made in the book were unrealistic.

“(We) have no problem (with this book) ... when the time comes for the prime minister and I (to visit the states), we will explain each of the points in the book so that no one will be hoodwinked by the so-called offer by Pakatan,” he told reporters after a meeting with educators at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Kerdau, here today.

Muhyiddin said opposition parties were not rational in their policies, which he said, could create negative results if implemented.

The book, among other things, spells out the opposition’s agenda for the country in relation to the economy and social justice and what it claims to be fairer federal-state relations.

Muhyiddin said that some analysts are of the opinion the country would go bankrupt if the measures spelled out in the book are implemented.

“(According to the book, the opposition would use) resources from Petronas ... it looks simple enough but the implication is huge,” he said.

“They are making the offer without thinking about the future. I hope the people will not be deceived by this,” he said. — Bernama
