GEORGE TOWN: The mysterious car that took PKR’s fiery orator Badrul Hisham Shaharin from Institut Jantung Negara (IJN) to Shangri-La Hotel to watch the sex video in a posh suite room on March 21 is “elusive and undetectable”.
Badrul’s checks revealed that the car could be used by “someone who is highly likely involved in an undercover police job”.
His checks found the car, the latest gold-coloured Volvo Sedan model, was untraceable by the Road Transport Department.
“The car registration number WQU 1925 was non-existent in RTD database,” he said when contacted here today.
He was elaborating on his “revelations” on the sex video at a rain-soaked PKR rally themed “Siapa Dalang Fitnah” (Who were behind the lies) in PKR supremo Anwar Ibrahim’s parliamentary constituency Permatang Pauh on Saturday night.
Badrul, who viewed the sex video allegedly featuring Anwar, carried out his checks on the mysterious car on Friday.
He and his friend were taken to the hotel in Kuala Lumpur on Monday evening in the car by two unidentified young smart-looking persons.
Badrul, or better known as Chegu Bard, has seen the sex clips twice from 8pm.
He was shown the tape by former Malacca chief minister and Risda (Rubber Industry Smallholders Development Authority) chairman Abdul Rahim Tamby Chik, businessman Shazryl Eskay Abdullah and another unidentified person, only known as “Tengku”.
High-level conspiracy
Badrul said he believed that the sex video was a product of a high-level conspiracy involving top government politicians.
He believes that the perpetrators were not really serious in their demand on Anwar and his wife, PKR president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, to quit politics over the sex video scandal.
But, he said the perpetrators were not keen to hand over a copy of the sex clip for him to show to Wan Azizah.
“I think the perpetrators were not serious in wanting Anwar and Kak Wan to quit politics. Otherwise, they would have given me the tape.
“Their objective is to humiliate Anwar, embarrass Kak Wan and family, and insult PKR,” said Badrul.
He also believes he was chosen to view the video because the perpetrators thought “I would betray PKR given my current differences with the party leadership”.
He said the perpetrators attempted to capitalise on his outspoken way in airing grievances and condemning wrongdoings.
“I would have been the first person to call on Anwar to quit politics if it was him on the sex tape. I am convinced that the person I saw on the black-and-white sex video was definitely not Anwar,” he said.
Acknowledging that he may have breached the law for watching a “blue film”, Badrul said he would be ever ready to assist the police probe into the controversy.
