Najib was born on this day in 1953.
The event was held at the Sultan Abdul Halim Airport shortly after the prime minister’s arrival.
Najib will later attend a lunch event at the Dewan 2020 in Perlis, before moving on to deliver contributions to religious schools and mosques at the Behor Pulai Industrial Training Institute.
The prime minister returned yesterday from an eight-day trip to Europe, during which he met British Prime Minister David Cameron and Pope Benedict XVI separately.
