Police urge public to submit Bersih 2.0 rally videos

The police have appealed to the public to hand in video footages captured during the Bersih 2.0 rally two weeks ago, as evidence of alleged police brutality in dispersing the gathering.

Deputy inspector-general of police Khalid Abu Bakar said that public cooperation is necessary in order for the authorities to get an accurate picture of the real situation of police roughing up participants while dispersing the rally, reported Bernama.

“We will investigate transparently, in detail and the police will not hide any facts,” vowed Khalid after officially opening an anti-car theft workshop in Genting Highlands.

He said six committees, made up of senior police officials, have been set up to probe into six claims of police brutality in dispersing the rally.
