DAP: Where are the allocations for Pakatan states?

DAP says it has been 14 months since the 10th Malaysia Plan was unveiled but the Pakatan-held states are still in the dark about their allocations.

PETALING JAYA: The Pakatan Rakyat-held states want to know what is their state allocation under the 10th Malaysia Plan (10MP).

“It has been 14 months now and we have still not been given the details,” DAP secretary for international affairs Liew Chin Tong told a press conference here.

The 10MP was tabled in Parliament last June.

“I remember (Minister in Prime Minister Department) Nor (Mohamed Yackop) said in reply to my queries that the allocations will be announced in two months (after the 10MP’s unveiling),” Liew said.

Yesterday, DAP secretary-general and Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng claimed Pakatan-held states are in the dark about the allocations while Barisan Nasional-controlled states have already been informed of their allocations.

“I was surprised when some BN leaders complained of insufficient allocations. For me, I don’t even know how much Penang got. Other BN states seem to know it already,” Lim told reporters after attending yesterday’s National Finance Council meeting with Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak along with other chief ministers and menteris besar.

He also claimed BN state leaders are already aware of the amount they are to be given six months ago.

According to Liew, past allocations for the states were detailed out in previous plans and he was surprised to see that none were made under the 10MP.

He suspects that it was done intentionally since Pakatan now controlled more states after the 2008 general election.

He said it was highly irresponsible of the federal government to delay on the matter and demanded a full disclosure of allocations meant for Pakatan-held states.
