KOTA KINABALU: A fuel tank at an independent power plant (IPP) in Sepanggar Bay exploded Monday and the tremors sent people scurrying for safety.
However, firemen managed to avert a major disaster when they arrived in the nick of time to bring the fire under control and stopped it from spreading to the main fuel tank at the IPP at Kg Malawar about 40kms from here at about noon.
No one was hurt in the incident and investigations are now underway to ascertain the cause of the fire. - Star
