Johor PAS Youth chief Suhaizan Kaiat today questioned rebuttals by historian Khoo Khay Kim on findings that the much maligned Mat Indera is an independence fighter and a hero.
“I don't agree with it, I think it is not right. As an historian you can challenge the findings of another historian but only if you have your own research to back it up,” he hit out.
Suhaizan further added that the onus now is on historians to research the real history of Mat Indera and come out with a clearer picture untinted by the historical bias of our once colonial masters, not make unsupported rebuttals off-hand.
