SHAH ALAM - Selangor Umno has filed a RM10mil defamation suit against Datuk Mustafa Ali (pic) and five others over statements made in relation to the raid on the Damansara Utama Methodist Church on Aug 3.
State Umno secretary Datuk Seri Ir Mohd. Zin Mohamed filed the suit and named Mustafa, PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang, PAS deputy president Mohamad Sabu, Harakah editor Ahmad Lufti Othman and reporter Khairul Azlam Mohamad as defendants.
Zin filed the suit at the Shah Alam High Court civil registry on Wednesday through Messrs Hafarizam, Wan & Aisha Mubarak.
In the writ, Zin alleged that Mustafa had during an interview with Khairul on Aug 15, uttered defamatory words that implied Umno had played a role in the JAIS operation.
