CELEBRATE CNY WITH BLOCKED DRAIN?

BLOCKED…..Broken drains cover and the blocked drains.

DURING the CNY greeting walkabout at the Inanam Baru shops, the Sabah DAP leaders received complaints from the many business operators concerning the poor maintenance of the shop front drains here.

The ‘kaki lima’ drains have not been dug up for years and they are filled with mud and rubbish. The water is blocked and remained stagnant giving out foul smell. Whenever it rains, the drains will over flow and causing the whole Inanam Baru flooded and the water almost got into the shops.

The drain cover slabs were broken in many places and had fallen into the drains blocking the water flow. It is dangerous for the pedestrians walking on the 5-foot way. The broken slabs were never replaced and these remained broken for along time now.

They all wanted the DAP leaders to assist them to bring up the matter to DBKK to get the drains clean up and to replace all the drain covers.

Edward Ewol Mujie was there to check on all the problems and he said he will bring it up with the DBKK drain section. He hopes this matter can be settled as soon as possible. The other thing he noticed of is the walk way slabs were broken in many places in the Inanam Baru, and needed immediate repairs.

Inanam Baru is an important part of bthe Inanam town and this should not be neglected. These shops owners and their customers are rates payers, and therefore they are entitled to better services from the DBKK. Let us help to make Inanam town to be a better town in the KK City.
