Selangor Sabotage: Attempts to disrupt garbage collection detected

Selangor Sabotage: Attempts to disrupt garbage collection detected
The Selangor state government's move to undertake solid waste management on its own rather than through private company Alam Flora has been met with yet another attempt to disrupt garbage collection schedule, this time in Shah Alam.
Hebat Abadi, a subsidiary of state-owned Kumpulan Darul Ehsan Berhad, yesterday lodge three police reports claiming his workers had been threatened not to carry out waste collection in the Shah Alam area.
The police reports, followed a report by UMNO mouthpiece of a complaint by a resident's in the Section 23 neighbourhood, lamenting that the state government apointed contractor was late in collecting garbage causing uneasiness among residents there. The paper suggested that the delay was a result of Alam Flora's termination.
However, Hebat Abadi's manager Ramli Mohd Tahir claimed that its contractor Aminora Enterprise, which was tasked with solid waste collection in Section 7, Shah Alam, had been harassed and threatened not to carry out its duty.
In another report, Ramli said his were again stopped from doing their work in Section 17.
“At 11am, in an area around Seksyen 17/23 Shah Alam, I had received a report that our contractors had been stopped by several individuals, who warned them not to enter the area,” he said in his report..
In his third police report, Ramli identified a red car bearing the licence number WWC 7760, accompanied by people on two motorcycles, preventing the contractors from entering Section 9.
The Selangor government had this year begun to manage its own solid waste collection, a task whose contract was awarded to Alam Flora.
Earlier in the year, there had also been reports of disruption of municipal services in Petaling Jaya, leading to uncollected rubbish piling up in some neighbourhoods.
