PERMATANG PAUH -- Permatang Pauh Umno is confident that it can give the opposition a good fight in the Permatang Pauh parliamentary constituency in the upcoming general election.
Its chief Datuk Abdul Jalil Abdul Majid said this was possible because of increased support for the coalition based on the positive response received from the constituents for programmes carried out by Umno.
He told this to reporters after holding a briefing session on the upcoming polls for the members of the division at the Permatang Pauh Umno headquarters here today.
The seat is held by opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who is also the de facto leader of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR).
