Green light for Parents for PPSMI Rally this Saturday

Green light for Parents for PPSMI Rally this Saturday
Parents should respond to the call for the National Education Dialogue announced by the Deputy Prime Minister, cum Education Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin earlier this week.
CPS, Concerned Parents Selangor is organising a P4P (Parents for PPSMI) Rally to enable parents to table issues pertaining to the Teaching and Learning of Science and Mathematics in English (PPSMI) in schools as well as other matters in education.
This initiative serves as a good platform to gather parents and obtain their opinions, views and ideas on education matters as part of a large group.
The P4P Rally will take place this Saturday 10th March 10am at Dataran PJ, Jalan Timur,  Petaling Jaya, which is at the field opposite Amcorp Mall. The police permit for the rally has been obtained.
Memo to Parliament
Parents should take advantage of this event as an avenue to get their voices heard since the Education Minister has genuinely invited stakeholders to give their feedback. CPS plans to send a memorandum to Parliament sometime next week based on the outcome of this gathering.
Parents will be given the opportunity to share their ideas and feedback with other like minded parents, as how school Annual General Meetings (AGM) are conducted. Matters that are unresolved at their children’s school’s AGM can also be tabled.
There are many implementation problems faced by parents and students on PPSMI. Some schools are still adamant in not providing enough for PPSMI despite the clearance given by the Deputy Education Minister, Datuk Dr. Wee Ka Siong, last month that “schools must teach Science and Mathematics in a language the students want".
We urge parents to be at the P4P Rally to pursue the cause of better education for the sake of their children.  Here is a golden opportunity served on a silver platter. Be there. Your voice matters.
The Government is in the mood to listen and to act on reasonable requests. Now, the ball is in your court, parents and future parents.
