Hasan Ali's Jati campaigns for Pakatan wipeout

When it comes to protecting the Islamic faith, fledgling NGO Jalur Tiga (Jati) believes that the most effective way is to keep Pakatan Rakyat out of power.

NONEAt a rally in Jati leader Hasan Ali's state seat of Gombak Setia last night, speakers campaigned against DAP and PKR, and what they termed as “parasitic elements” in PAS.

Stoking the emotions of the crowd of at least 500, speaker Shamsuddin Munir (right) called “extremist and chauvinistic” non-Muslims in DAP and PKR “kafir harbi”(hostile non-believers).

Shamsuddin, who is affliated with Yayasan Dakwah Islamiah Malaysia (Yadim), said this is because the non-Muslims insist on proselytising Muslims.

“They are kafir harbi, and it is compulsory to wage war against them. In the modern sense, this means not conceding a single seat to DAP or PKR in the general election,” he said to applause.

NONEAlso carrying the theme was former Selangor PAS information chief Hassan Basri Mohamad (left), who said the party has been insulted to such a degree that the parasitic elements now want a non-Muslim leader.

“They want Ustazah Ambiga (Sreenevasan) as deputy president. Are they so starved of non-Muslim votes?...They will hug Ambiga as if she is a champion of Islam,” said the firebrand speaker.

Going through an anti-Pakatan ‘greatest hits’ list - which includes Pakatan leaders' remarks on communists, Israel and homosexuality - Hassan Basri's picture of the coalition left the audience shaking their heads in dismay.

'Pakatan will remove Article 153'

To add to the anxiety of the mostly middle-aged crowd, star speaker Hasan warned that the writing is on the wall for an amendment to remove Article 153 of the federal constitution which protects Malay interests.

NONE“There are signs in their actions, words and writings....if Pakatan wins big, it will drop Article 153 for total meritocracy. That's why we need the royal institution who can block this,” he said.

Emphatically, Hasan who was sacked by PAS and subsequently dropped from the Selangor exco, said he “let go” of the state post where he could have earned up to RM60,000 a month to defend Islam, Malays and the royal institution.
“Imagine that. Others kill each other to be on the executive council,” he said, using the event also to promote his Islamic summer camps for schoolchildren.

The event saw a Jati membership drive, and a donation drive for Hasan's anti-proselytisation Unit Selamatkan Akidah.

The former Islamic affairs exco had won the Gombak Setia seat on a PAS ticket by a majority of 2,797.
