Kedah 'conspiracy' to topple Phahrolrazi

Kedah PAS leader Phahrolrazi Zawawi has alleged that the party’s Youth wing is involved in a bid to oust him and Dr Ismail Salleh from the state PAS liaison committee line-up.

The former Kedah PAS exco member, who is the state PAS deputy commissioner I, was reported in Berita Harian today as saying that a third party is out to topple him and state deputy commissioner II Ismail.

Phahrolrazi (left) claimed that Kedah PAS Youth chief Ahmad Yahya was said to have the support of several Kedah PAS committee members in his demand that the duo be removed.

“I think PAS Youth do not understand the real issues and I feel several division leaders also do  not understand it. The motion (to remove us) was brought by a third party who has a plan for this,” Phahrolrazi said.

Phahrolrazi added he respected and appreciated Kedah Menteri Besar Azizan Abdul Razak’s stand in wanting him and Ismail be retained and has rejected such calls or movement to oust them.

Phahrolrazi said that Azizan has been accommodating as the issue arose as a result of a difference of opinion between him and Azizan over the state administration. There was nothing personal in the matter.

Yesterday, Berita Harian reported that the Kedah PAS liaison committee had received calls to replace Phahrolrazi and Ismail (right) following Kedah PAS Youth’s motion so as to better prepare the party for the 13th general election.

Meanwhile, PAS secretary-general Mustafa Ali has called on Kedah PAS Youth and the state liaison committee to abide by the party’s central committee decision to retain Phahrolrazi and Ismail in the Kedah state exco line-up.

"This issue should not have happened as the Kedah PAS Youth should realise and remember the PAS central committee had made a decision.

"The steering committee has already been formed to monitor the state administration. We must abide by what has been decided," said Mustafa.
