Breaking a long silence, DAP national secretary-general Lim Guan Eng has voiced his opinion on the spat between two party leaders - national chairperson Karpal Singh and Penang deputy head P Ramasamy.
Lim said party matters must be discussed internally and urged the duo to make use of such channels to air their grievances.
In addition, internal discussions should not be publicised to give DAP's political opponents the opportunity to take advantage of the situation, he said.
Saying this is the sentiment among almost all DAP members, Lim appealed to all party leaders and supporters to support this basic principle.
"Let's settle our internal problems internally first. Do not increase our supporters’ anguish and make our opponents happy," he said today.
Yesterday, Karpal (right) hadblurted out his unhappiness over the composition of the disciplinary committee, which had recently cleared Ramasamy of misconduct.
Karpal said the committee’s decision was "null and void" as its members should not have sat in judgment over a fellow panel-member.

Lim said he would seek a meeting with Karpal, together with other party leaders, to try and resolve the matter.
Asked if he is disappointed with the state of affairs in the party, Lim only said: "From my statement, you can see that it is the first time I am responding to this.”
