Why discriminate against straight people?

Anyway, why are you just focusing on gays? Do only gays pay tax? Straight people pay tax as well. So why are you not also taking into consideration straight people? As you said, 30% of Malaysians are gays. That means 70% are straight. So straight people are the majority. And since Malaysia is a democracy, don’t the needs of the majority count?

The government needs to create a “homosexual rehabilitation centre” to combat the phenomenon in Malaysia, according to Barisan Nasional MP who today claimed 30% of Malaysian men were gay.

According to a Bernama Online report, Datuk Baharum Mohamad (BN-Sekijang) said in Parliament today that this was to aid those with homosexual tendencies or engaged in same-sex relationships to stop such behaviour.

“We have to find a solution to combat these activities from getting rampant just like the efforts we take to combat drugs,” Baharum said.

“A study has found that, right now, three out of 10 men in Malaysia are gay. This is scary.” (The Malaysian Insider)
*******************************
Dear Datuk Baharum Mohamad,

I refer to your proposal in Parliament yesterday and would like to say that I found it most interesting. Sometimes I wish I had stood for elections so that I can be in Parliament to participate in these most stimulating debates. Alas, I am resigned to the fact that I am only able to witness these Parliament debates on TV. And since I live in the UK, the only Parliament debates I can witness are those on BBC, which means I get to see only the UK Parliament debates.

I must admit that the UK Parliament debates are quite boring. They only debate issues like the world economy, how to ensure that the UK is spared the economic onslaught and can survive the next three years intact without any severe hardship to the 71 million British citizens, how to reduce unemployment, how to provide homes for the homeless, how to ensure that the old and sick are taken care off, how to improve the British education system so that students receive the best and world-class education, how to achieve zero-racism in the UK and moves to impose heavy penalties for all and any acts of racism, and whatnot.

Sometimes I wonder why I even waste my precious time watching these Parliament debates when I could get better entertainment following Malaysian Parliament debates about the need to set up rehabilitation centres for gays.

I am quite surprised that you said only 30% of Malaysians are gays. I think I remember reading somewhere that the figure is as high as 50%. But maybe that includes closet gays as well. I take it you are talking about those who have come out of the closet. Anyway, 30% or 50% is not really the issue that concerns me. What does is the fact that you are proposing facilities for just male gays while leaving out those female gays and those who are straight.

I take it your interest is to ensure that you can ‘turn over’ gays to become straight. Hmm…turning over gays. That was no pun intended but don’t you find it quite hilarious that you want the government to turn over gays? I mean, gays are already turning over, if you know what I mean. So you probably meant that they should be turned over the other way.

For example, according to PDRM, the 2007 report shows that 0.5% of fatal traffic accidents are caused by drunk drivers. This would mean 99.5% of fatal traffic accidents are caused by those who do not drink. Hence, why would we need to send drinkers who drink for rehabilitation? Instead, we should be sending all those drivers who do not drink for rehabilitation. If non-drinkers cause 99.5% of fatal traffic accidents, then non-drinkers are dangerous and should not be allowed to drive. And they should be sent for rehabilitation and not be allowed to drive unless they start drinking. Hence fatal traffic accidents would be reduced drastically.

If you were to read the Quran, you will see that an entire chapter has been devoted to adultery. The Islamic law of Hudud also addresses this issue and has laid down severe punishment for adultery. Hence Islam is more concerned with adultery than gays. Even the Ten Commandments say you shall not bonk your neighbour’s wife. It does not say you shall not bonk your neighbour’s husband.

Adultery is a more serious problem compared to those who indulge in a gay lifestyle. So should the government not also set up rehabilitation centres for adulterers and adulteresses who are straight?

Why are only gays given attention? As you said, only 30% of Malaysians are gay. There are more adulterers and adulteresses amongst straight people. I am sure for every one gay that you detect you could probably detect ten straight adulterers and adulteresses. So should we not also extend this rehabilitation service to straight adulterers and adulteresses? They too pay tax? Should not they too receive the benefit of the tax they are paying?

Another problem, which is even more serious, is corruption. Corruption is even more damaging to the country compared to people bonking each other or gays turning each other over (this time pun intended). People who give as well as receive bribes should both be rehabilitated, just like gays who give as well as receive should be rehabilitated (again, pun intended).

I am not sure whether the government should set up just one rehabilitation centre in each district with different sections or whether there should be separate rehabilitation centres for gays, straight adulterers and adulteresses, people who give and receive bribes, drivers who do not drink, people who cheat in the elections, people who lie and distort the truth, etc.

Whatever it is, I agree we need some form of rehabilitation for evildoers, deviants, perverts, transgressors, and whatnot. Malaysia is rapidly going downhill and unless we arrest the problem we may soon see the country going down a slippery slope. My only issue is that it is unfair to focus just on gays while excluding this same benefit to other tax-paying Malaysians, who are in fact paying even more tax than gays. I hope you can bring this matter up in Parliament and get a healthy debate going. Malaysia needs Parliamentarians like you to save the country.
