Why use PMO staff for private dinners?
YOURSAY ‘Either Najib is stealing public funds or he is living an extravagant lifestyle way beyond his means as a PM.'
PKR: PMO billed RM80,000 for PM's birthday bash
Pants on Fire: Of course, there will be another denial and Shangri-La Hotel and the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) may amend the records overnight to show that Najib Abdul Razak paid the bill.
But the point is why use PMO staff and office equipment for private dinners?
Kgen: Which is worse, Najib paid for it himself or the PM's Office paid for him? Either way, he won't get off the hook.
Either he is stealing public funds or he is living an extravagant lifestyle way beyond his means as PM.
Both receptions already add up to almost half a million ringgit, probably more if other expenses are considered. This is the man who asked Malaysians to change their lifestyle.
Keneoh: The PM asked the rakyat to tighten their belts and yet he spend RM32,000 on flowers for his birthday party.
L Joy: Exasperating, that is what it is, with one disclosure after another, never ending. What is this? It seems we are being ruled by a gang of thieves and murderers.
First, the hotel was made to take the fall for Najib's daughter's engagement party, now will the hotel be made to take the fall for Najib's birthday bash?
This from the man who asked for forgiveness from the people for mistakes before 2008, and also the man who wants our ‘nambikei' (trust)? For another term of office?
Will Indians and Malays be so foolish enough to trust a daylight thief to look after our finances for another five years? Are we stupid, ignorant and blind to give him another mandate?
Ootsky: This reminds me of the time then-prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad wanted to discredit the sultans and all the details of their lavish spending, right down to the exorbitant cost of their bed linen, was splashed on the front pages of our newspapers.
It worked then, so I dare say it will also work now.
2CTS WORTH: Jibby Gor Gor (brother Najib), please be prudent when spending taxpayers' money. Remember you told us to tighten our belts?
How could you digest your expensive imported food knowing many can hardly have a decent meal.
You have no idea? Well, you could stop your indecent meals so that the poor can have a decent one.
Bluemountains: What will happen to a school headmaster if he uses some school funds to pay for his daughter's engagement dinner as well as for his own birthday party?
I am very certain he will be charged with criminal breach of trust (CBT) and will have to do time in Sungai Buloh prison, besides losing his job and pension. One country, two laws.
Zz2XX: When most people can't even afford a small cake for their birthday, here Umno's king can have a birthday feast that cost RM79,053! I am very sure this money came out of his very huge pocket.
Flagevetran: Why can't they have roasted meat from the National Feedlot Corporation (NFC), ‘ikan bakar' from any ‘kampung nelayan' (fishing village), halal Chinese food from local Chinese restaurants... They cannot support local businesses, meh?
Black Mamba: If it's a birthday treat from the 28 million grateful Malaysian population for his superb leadership, it would costs the rakyat only 0.003 sen each, but unfortunately it's not.
It's more like thieving from the populace who are disappointed with his flip-flop corrupt policies.
P.Dev Anand Pillai: It is a pity that the Indians, according to the MIC president, are ready to go back to supporting the BN.
Most are not concerned about what actually happens behind the scenes as long as they are given some money, they are willing to sell off their rights for the next five years. This is the PM who wants ‘nambikei' (trust) from the Indians.
If the poor rakyat default on one payment, their properties are seized and auctioned off. If we fail to settle police summonses, they come to your doorstep and shame you by handcuffing you, and here we have a PM who treats the federal coffers as though it is his personal bank account.
The rakyat only have themselves to blame for voting these robbers, time and again.
Shanandoah: Wow! RM80,000 for 100 guests. That works out to RM800 per guest. Gosh, what did they really eat and how much of it?
Can the hotel produce the list of guests invited to gourmandise and feast on such a meal? Where is the Guinness Book of Records? Please enter it there for future reference.
Geronimo: Yet another event held where my money was used and I was not even invited. How can? - Malaysiakini
