DAP to drop Tunku Aziz from Senate?

It is learnt that DAP vice-president Tunku Abdul Aziz Tunku Ibrahim may be dropped from his senator’s post, and his term ending May 30 will not be renewed.

Tunku Abdul Aziz was expected to face censure from the DAP after his remarks rejecting the April 28 Bersih 3.0 sit-in in Kuala Lumpur.

DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng has openly chastised Tunku Aziz, saying his comment has placed the party in an “embarrassing position” when it supports Bersih, which stands for clean and fair elections.

It is learnt that former state PKR secretary and current election director Mustafa Kamal Mohd Yusoff’s term will also not be renewed.

Today, Lim, the Penang Chief Minister, is expected to announce the appointment of academician Ariffin Omar and former Malaysian Trades Union Congress (MTUC) chief Syed Shahir Syed Mohamud as the new senators nominated by the state.

  1. DAP should not drop Tunku Aziz from senatorship just because he object to the Bersih Rally. Does Tunku Aziz not have the right and freedom to raise his own opinions??? DAP is trying to teach their members a lesson not to go against the norm? What is called freedom of speech if they are not allowed to express what they think???

If DAP dropped Tunku Aziz for this reason, then DAP is just another hypocrite for trying to oppress freedom of speech, just like PAS for firing Hassan Ali from raising his opinions!

Tunku Aziz better just come and join BN.

  2. The opposition always called for freedom of speech, but their actions does not seem to be promoting freedom of speech at all. Is oppressing members rights for their opinions, or shunning members who dares go against the norm, or firing those who dare speaks the truth an act of promoting freedom? Looks like the opposition is just another hypocrite, they only want freedom of speech when its beneficial to them.

  3. pembangkang pun tak beri kebebasan kepada ahlinya bersuara, takkan membantah bersih dia nak digugurkan dari jawatan senator.
