Lembah Pantai MP Nurul Izzah Anwar countered Umno’s allegation that it was PKR’s provocation that led to the fracas on Thursday night’s ceramah, saying there was video proof.
The PKR vice-president said the best proof to the actual events that resulted in the ceramah being pelted with eggs and stones was in the video recording by reporters covering the ceramah.
“The best proof is the video recording,” said Nurul Izzah (right).
“I want to say this - for over two hours Ummi Hafilda and other ceramah speakers were spewing rough language about PKR de factoleader Anwar Ibrahim, but we didn’t do anything (retaliate).
“That’s also on record, we just ask that everyone be patient,” she added.
This morning Lembah Pantai Umno claimed that the fracas at the Pakatan ceramah next to their own that night was disrupted because Anwar had provoked the Umno crowd by saying “Umno sial, Umno celaka”.
However according to reports, the fracas had started even before Anwar had uttered those words.

Umno admitting guilt?
Nurul Izzah further pointed out that Lembah Pantai Umno’sexplanation today is an admission that their members did in fact throw stones and eggs at the Pantai Dalam Pakatan ceramah on May 24.
“(Federal Territories Minister) Raja Nong Chik also did not deny this, so I take that as an admission of guilt,” she said.
She was speaking after accompanying one of the victims of the violence Raja Ismail Raja Din (top photo, holding report) to the Pantai police station to lodge a report.
The 60-year-old Petaling Jaya Selatan PKR member alleged that he was hit repeatedly by what he believed were metal ball bearings during the incident.
With them at the station were PJ South MP Hee Loy Sian and Taman Medan assemblyperson Haniza Talha.
