DAP Sabah said PM Najib recent announcement of MASwings to be partly owned by Sabah, Sarawak has shown again how Federal Government has always overlooked Sabah.
DAP Sandakan Tanjung Papat, Johnny Tan has commented on PM Najib announcement, citing this announcement is another classic example how they sidelined Sabahans.
"Why should Sabahans accept the offer to include Sabah state government in the equity ownership of MASwings, a fully owned subsidiary of Malaysia Airlines? Especially when MAS is always making a loss!? " Johnny asked.
To increase the productivity of aviations and its network connections in Sabah, all government needed to do is to issue SABAH AIR the license to operate commercial flights.
He reminded PM Najib not to overlook on Sabah Air which has been operating in Sabah for so many years Not to mention the substantial amount of contributions from Sabah natural resources on our national revenue &economic growth. There is no reason why Sabah Air cannot handle commercial flights. This is also what Sabahans have long for.
If this announcement is not a political gimmick ahead of the upcoming General Election to woo Sabahan voters, PM Najib should grant Sabah Air the license to operate commercial flights. - Sabahkini
Sabah Air still needs time to fully set up and operate, therefore we have to depend on MASwings for now.

I think Sabah Air will still be established, but it will take more time and money before its ready. Hopefully the state and federal government will cooperate to make this Sabah Air a success.

Jadi lebih baik kedua2nya diterima saja. Sabah Air masih memerlukan banyak penambahbaikan. bila sudah stabil dan mampu berdiri sendiri barulah ambil keputusan untuk menggunakan perkhidmatan Sabah Air sepenuhnya.
