Suspected break-in attempt at Ambiga's office

A dismantled access card control box at Bersih co-chairperson Ambiga Sreenevasan's office in Damansara Heights has given rise to suspicions of an attempted break-in.

NONEAccording to Ambiga, the box that controls access to the entrance was found broken at about 8am today.

"My staff found it first thing in the morning, and is in the midst of lodging a police report at the Travers police station now," she said when contacted.

"We don't know if the perpetrators were frightened off, how it happened, or if it is related to anything else."
NONEShe later tweeted that her bodyguards, whom she hired after receiving death threats last year, have noticed that they have been “followed” from her house to her office.

It is understood that two men are suspected to have been following the former Bar Council president for the past few days.

Meanwhile, police confirm that a report has been lodged on the matter.

“Wait (for the investigation),” Kuala Lumpur CID chief Ku Chin Wah told reporters at the Travers police station.

The suspected break-in follows two protests by anti-Bersih groups in front of her house in Bukit Damansara after the Bersih 3.0 rally for clean and fair elections on April 28.
