Vulgar aerobics protest outside Ambiga’s home

They performed an ugly and disgusting butt dance show, says Bersih's S Ambiga.
PETALING JAYA: A group of 15 men, believed to be retired army veterans, have resorted to staging a vulgar aerobics protest in front of Bersih co-chairman’s home, S Ambiga.
“They came in front of my house and performed a vulgar dance show. It was very ugly and disgusting.
“They also chanted ‘Hidup Polis and Hidup BN’,” said Ambiga, who was at the court when contacted this morning.
The group of veterans then resorted to performing a strange form of aerobics by showing their bottoms.
Ambiga also said the group of men dared her as well.
“They dared me to sue them, otherwise they claimed that they would return with a bigger crowd.”
Ambiga added that police were present near her home but they did not take any action.
“They did not take action because the police yesterday announced that there was nothing wrong protesting in front of my house,” she said.
She was referring to Deputy Inspector-General of Police Khalid Abu Bakar’s statement yesterday that there was nothing wrong with protesting in front of her house.
“What offence? If you want to sit in front of her house without disrupting other people, there is no offence.
“As long as they don’t commit any offence such as trespassing on private property, we will not take action,” Khalid said in a press conference yesterday.
Burger protest
On Thursday, a group of burger sellers staged a protest in front of Ambiga’s house by distributng 200 burgers.
Organised by an NGO called Malaysia Small and Medium Entrepreneurs Alliance (Ikhlas), it was done because the traders claimed they suffered losses amounting to RM200,000 due to the Bersih 3.0 rally led by Ambiga on April 28.
Meanwhile, in an immediate reaction, Malacca PKR vice chairman G Rajendran urged the public to be calm over the aerobics protest.
“I am asking the people not to feel angry or to verbally abuse the former soldiers,” he told FMT
“We cannot change the manner of military personnel who support Umno but there are many good and highly respected soldiers in Malaysian army,” he said.
He added that the action of a few has sullied the reputation of the Malaysian army.
