'Anwar's overture a ploy to grab BN fixed deposit'

Perkasa supreme council member Zulkifli Nordin today lashed out at Pakatan Rakyat for campaigning on a 'Sabah for Sabahans' platform, which it said was a ploy to threaten BN’s “fixed deposit”.

"I am worried about their 'Sabah for Sabahan' slogan because it return to the pre-independence era. We have to move on, Sabah is now part of Malaysia.

NONE"We should respect the stance of Sabahans who had then chose to join Malaysia. We should not try to turn back the clock to divide the country," he told a press conference after the Malay rights group’s breaking fast ceremony in Kuala Lumpur tonight.

Zulkifli (right), who is also Kulim Bandar Baru MP, warned that promising a better deal for Sabahans was merely Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim’s ploy.

"He will promise the moon and the stars to politicians particularly in Sabah and Sarawak, because he knows these states are BN's secured deposit and he wants to shake that," he said.

Anwar and several Pakatan Rakyat leaders were in Sabah today for the launch of a newly formed group by Sabahans called Angkatan Perubahan Sabah (APS) to counter what Tuaran MP Wilfred Mojilip Bumburing called BN’s “broken promises”.

Sore points amongst the Sabahans with their fixed deposit holders in Putrajaya are the burgeoning problem of illegal immigrants allegedly possessing MyKads and the state’s oil royalties.

In a related matter, Zulkifli called on Beaufort MP Lajim Ukin to resign as deputy housing and local government minister.

Lajim had yesterday relinquished all his positions in Umno, but insist on remaining as an ordinary member and deputy minister until he is sacked.

"If his struggle is no longer in line with the Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak then he should resign," said Zulkifli
