KUALA LUMPUR, July 2 — Public Service Department (PSD) Deputy Director-General (Development) Datuk Farida Mohd Ali will carry out the duties of the PSD director-general, pending appointment of a new director-general.
Chief Secretary to the Government Datuk Seri Dr Ali Hamsa said Farida was entrusted to carry out the duties of the PSD director-general, effective yesterday.
The government was considering and evaluating eligible and suitable candidates for the post, he said in a three-paragraph statement issued here today, following the departure of Tan Sri Abu Bakar Abdullah, 57, from the post.
Ali also expressed appreciation and gratitude to Abu Bakar over his contributions throughout his 35-year service with the government. — Bernama
