PKR wants debate with Umno over Indians' future

PKR has challenged Umno to a public debate on the future of the Malaysian Indian community rather than MIC, saying the latter had failed the community.

“We choose to debate Umno instead of MIC, because MIC has failed to solve the problems of the Indian community,” said PKR information bureau committee member K Gunasekaran today.

He added that the party chose to challenge Umno as the Malay party holds supreme power in the BN coalition.

Gunasekaran was speaking after handing over a memorandum to the Umno headquarters this morning to invite the ruling party’s leadership to engage them in the debate as soon as possible.
