Noh: MB must explain PKNS sale of RM321mil of assets

Agriculture and Agribusinesses Minister Noh Omar today challenged Selangor Menteri Besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim to deny claims that the Selangor Development Corporation (PKNS) will sell off RM321 million worth of assets.

Noh claimed that the sale of the PKNS Shah Alam, PKNS Bangi, PKNS Petaling Jaya buildings, Wisma Yakin, and the SACC Mall had received the PKNS board's approval.

However, he told reporters at the Parliament lobby that no sale agreements have been signed yet.

"If the MB is truly a good and transparent administrator, why should these assets be sold?" he added in a press statement issued to media at Parliament today.

Speaking at the press conference, Noh claims he has "evidence" to back his claim, but will not disclose it yet.

"I am not making an accusation, but I want the MB to refute this claim...The transaction has not taken place, but the board has passed it and the matter is in its final stages.

"If he says there's no such thing, then there's no such thing. That is all. It is in the process of being sold, but it hasn't happened. No agreement has been drawn up or signed, only board approval," he said.

Only MB can stop the sale'
The Selangor Umno deputy liaison chief added that only the MB could clear the air on the matter, and is the only person who can stop the sales.

Asked why these assets are to be sold, he cynically said: "You have to ask the excellent MB why."
It was perhaps a veiled inference to a statement by PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim who on Monday, said Khalid is a good state administrator with high integrity, who is not in politics to line his own pockets.
