SHAH ALAM- Chief Secretary to the Government Datuk Seri Ali Hamsa has warned that he will not tolerate civil servants who act as stooges and reveal classified government information to other parties.
He said the government viewed the matter seriously and described such civil servants as not having any integrity and will ensure that harsh and appropriate action be taken against them.
"If we find out who these stooges are we will take action against them," he told reporters after the meeting with Selangor state civil servants at Intekma Resort today.
However, he did not reveal the course of action to be taken, saying there is adequate legislation to address such wrongdoing, nor did he give details of such persons.
On another matter, Ali denied meeting the Sultan of Selangor yesterday to discuss the transfer of Petaling Jaya Mayor Datuk Mohamad Roslan Sakiman, which he described as a "non-issue".
He said the meeting with the Sultan was a "routine meeting between the chief secretary and the Sultan", adding that the matters discussed included development as well as the welfare of civil servants and citizens.
Ali said the government is looking at implementing a new wage system to remove the salary ceiling for civil servants.
"I have discussed with JPA whether we can implement a new scheme without the ceiling (gaji mati).
"Government servants will at least get increment based on the inflation rate. It means there will no longer be a salary ceiling if they don't get promoted," he said.
