'We smell a rat in FRU's stink-bomb plan'

VOXPOP 'Why are the police looking for more deterrent punishment? What are the crimes that we are committing besides asking for free election?'

Cops mull making protesters 'stinky'

vox populi small thumbnailMushiro: What a decent police explanation to Suhakam on how very restrained and law-abiding the cops and Federal Reserve Unit (FRU) were at the Bersih 2.0 rally.

Were the scenes of police brutalities captured by the many foreign and local journalists false? I hope Suhakam does not get conned by them.

Karma: When is the day where the Suhakam commissioners were shown the videos of police brutally beating up people? The police must answer for these cowardly acts as the whole world has seen them.

There is no need to demonstrate all these equipments as their proper use was not followed. Answer to the videos of police firing tear gas canisters directly at protesters.

Answer to the beatings of civilians by a group of police with name tags, without tags and disguised as protesters. We want to see the guilty ones charged in court.

AnakBangsaMalaysia: The crime rate spirals out of control, and the police are busy sniffing malodorants while brainstorming new ways to assault peaceful, unarmed protesters. Well done, police, well done.

Enlightened: Why do you have to use anything to disperse a crowd attending a peaceful protest in the first place?

Just Sp: Why are the police looking for more deterrent punishment? What are the crimes that we are committing besides asking for free election? When has that become a crime?

We gathered in peace and then all hell broke loose. Those in authority now please remember there is such a thing called law of natural justice, which means what goes around comes around.

One day your children will be among those fighting for a better and more responsible government and someone else is going to dish out the punishment. Please remember there is a God up there.

Senior: What if the stink is such that nobody goes shopping for the day? Will shop owners sue the police for loss of business?

Jiminy Qrikert: Look at how the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) idiots are pointing their guns. Shoulder-high. Those barrels are for firing projectiles. So, there you go - evidence that the PDRM aim to hurt or maim with impunity.

Trained attack dogs automatically do what they are trained to do. So, in this case, it looks like they were trained to shoot with their projectile-ejecting barrels levelled at shoulder-height.

That is like aiming cannons at the heads of the rakyat. That's our how PDRM controls crowds - crush them, in the heads.

Stories: What would happen if those protesters who were shot with malodorants then go to the police station?

Humno: Stories, you are right. In future, all protesters should proceed to the police station (actually Bukit Aman is ideal) when they are sprayed with these malodorants.

Infect them with the "poison" that they deployed. ‘Don't play play' with the rakyat.
Printer maintenance is 72 times purchase price

Silent Majority: The LQ300 with a five-year comprehensive maintenance plan cost RM53,525 and at the cost of RM738 per unit; the supplier can put in a brand new unit every month and have 12 units to spare. If this is not a ripoff, what is?

Wira: This printer story, if in the absence of crony hands, also portrays institutional incompetence. Instead of the standalone Epson LQ300 printers, why not opt for the rental of the FujiXerox ApeosPort-IVC3371 network printer?

This machine rents for RM750 a month and that covers all maintenance and toners. You pay 3 sen for a black and white copy. At 6,000 prints a month per counter, that only comes up to RM180. Cost of paper comes out to another RM100.

If we share a printer with three counters, the cost to each counter would come out to RM (250+180+100) =RM530. That is even a lot cheaper than that lowly dot matrix ribbon printer LQ300.

This high-speed network printer can be used as a fax machine, scans documents and sends them over the Internet in addition to photocopying documents at whatever manner you deem fit, in colour too if you wish.

Rakyat Malaysia: Now, that's how local vendors get rich from government agencies, departments, hospitals and clinics. And that's on top of all the import and export taxes that local companies are paying that are higher than other countries.

Actually, the government is super rich if they spend wisely but due to too many Umno-BN mouths need to feed, our taxes are among the highest in the world.

Donplaypuks: For most printers, the annual maintenance contract sum is usually 10 percent of cost of printer. In this case, it will be about RM70 per year excluding cost of replacement parts, after warranty period has expired. This government contract is clearly highway robbery.

But what can we say? Even on the highways, we are robbed by exorbitant toll charges.

Jaguh: I am providing maintenance services to banks, and telcos. Boy, if I can get hold of 25 percent of this so-called contract with the Health Ministry, I would shut my current business and just reap the rewards from these hospitals alone.

It's indeed daylight robbery, but by whom? - Malaysiakini
