GEORGE TOWN- The recent presence of Betty Chew, wife Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng at the Penang Legislative Assembly House is no big deal.
However the sight of her sitting right behind Lim when he presented the 2013 budget is something which Nibong Tebal MP Tan Tee Beng finds as strange.
Tan questioned why was Chew being accorded the privilege to sit at the gallery reserved for civil servants.
He also asked whether the Speaker had not noticed the arrangement of this protocol or whether he was afraid to question Lim on the matter.
"I wonder what a Chief Minister's wife has to do with the Penang budget? Is she trying to prove something by sitting behind her husband?"
