Noh questions sale of shares to non-bumi company

Selangor BN deputy chief Noh Omar today questioned the move by Worldwide Holdings Berhad, a subsidiary of the Selangor Economic Development Corporation (PKNS), to sell RM150 million worth of shares to a non-bumiputera company.

He said he recently came to learn of the share disposal by Worldwide Holdings.

Noh said the company set up on March 21 previously had two directors who were non-bumiputeras but shareholders and that following a search with the Companies Comission of Malaysia (SSM), it was found that the duo had resigned as directors on May 22 but still remained as shareholders.

"On same date (May 22), the company appointed two new directors from among the top brass of PKNS but the strange thing was that the shareholders were still the same two people (the two directors who had resigned).

"What is the agenda, was all these pre-planned?" he told a press conference after closing a function organised by Tanjong Karang Umno.

Noh, who is also agriculture and agro-based industries minister and Tanjong Karang Umno head, demanded that Selangor Menteri Besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim as chairperson of PKNS clarify the matter.
