The police are “only assisting” the Selangor Islamic Religious Department (Jais) in its investigations into PKR vice-president Nurul Izzah Anwar’s ‘no compulsion in religion’ remark.

“Let (Jais) investigate further,” he told reporters at the Raja Perempuan Zainab II Hospital in Kota Bharu yesterday.
Nurul Izzah’s remark has courted controversy after Umno-owned daily Utusan Malaysia headlined a report that labelled her remark as ‘encouraging apostasy’ among Muslims.
She has denied the accusation and claimed that she is a victim of a spin by Utusan.
