MALACCA, Feb 11 – The Council of Former Elected Representatives Malaysia (Mubarak) wants Barisan Nasional (BN) representatives not nominated for the upcoming 13th general election not to keep a grudge and give support to those chosen.
Its president, Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Abdul Rahman said this was important to avoid conflicts and disunity in the party and to help BN achieve victory.
“People’s representatives not nominated will be angry but we hope it won’t be for long...don’t dwell on it.
“They should help the candidates just as they (representatives) were given assistance before they got elected,” he told reporters after attending Melaka Mubarak’s 12th Annual General Meeting and Chinese New Year celebration here today.
The event was officiated by Melaka Tourism, Culture and Heritage Committee chairman Datuk Wira Latiff Tamby Chik.
Meanwhile, Abdul Aziz said Mubarak had begun monitoring discipline of BN members so as to ensure the party’s stability is not affected.
He said the move was being taken to ensure immediate action could taken against those who tried to sabotage the party.
At the event, Mubarak also launched the Melaka Mubarak’s Kelab Mutiara aimed at creating a group of new members among the children of former representatives for a continuation of  non-governmental organisations involvement in politics and education. – Bernama
